Last week, Enviroco launched its first Accelerator Leadership Development Programme. The first group of ‘Acceleratees’ pictured left to right are: John Potts – Sales Coordinator Graham Heaton – Bid and Marketing Manager Diane Buchan – Environmental Business Advisor Dominic Travis …
I joined Enviroco in September 1998, and worked as both Operations Manager and Commercial Manager before taking on the role of Managing Director. My previous roles were with Sidlaw Packaging; initially as Divisional Finance Director and later as General Manager of both Venus Flexible Packaging and Transrap. I also worked with SCWS, Scottish Brick, Whyte & MacKay and Metal Box.
From a standing start in 1998, we have grown considerably, with a turnover of around £30m in 2009. Our first contract award was from Phillips Petroleum (now ConocoPhillips).
We won the Shell PSV Tank Cleaning tender in 1999, and have had a relationship with them ever since, becoming their Integrated Waste Managers in November 2003. All of our customers are equally important to us and we believe that once we secure a contract, it is only ours to lose. We see ourselves as simply an extension to our customer’s core skills.
Most importantly, we have developed a culture within the company that ensures that our employees and our subcontractors work safely in all aspects of our business, assess operational risks sensibly, are environmentally aware, given the opportunity to grow their individual potential and, lastly, enjoy working with us.
