One of the primary responsibilities of a waste producer is their “duty of care” which is a responsibility to ensure they produce, store, transport and dispose of their waste without causing injury, harming the environment, or human health. As a waste producer, you are obliged to ensure that the person receiving your waste is legally permitted to do so and this can be done through a duty of care audit.

A duty of care audit includes a visit to the waste manager’s site, a site tour, a question and answer session and the collection of relevant documents. We have developed our downloadable content section of this site so that you can easily view our documents to help you with this process.
